Monday is Dr. Suess' birthday. Students are welcome to bring in their favorite Dr. Suess book that day and to wear crazy socks to celebrate.
Thank you Nancy for organizing such a wonderful Valentine's Day Party on Friday. Please see shutterfly for the wonderful photos that Mariana's dad, Jim took at the party. There is a two hour late opening on Wednesday, February 18th. We will be jumping back to our Ocean unit this week. In writing, we are working on personal narratives again. We are working on adding character, setting, and details to our stories. Friday, February 20th will be our 100th Day of school. Students are encouraged to bring in 100 items to share with the class. These items should be able to fit on their desk. Examples include: 100 pennies, straws, noodles, drawings, etc. We will be viewing the other kindergarten classes 100 day projects as well. Two more friendship Valentines. Parent Led Art Valentine's Art
Last week I sent home a class list with each student. If your child is planning to make Valentines for his/her classmates please be sure that they make one for every child in our class. Students can bring them in any day this week. Our Valentine's Day party is this Friday from 12:15-1:15. Nancy, Gabriel's mom, is our party coordinator. There is a sign up list outside of our class to bring in food or help out with the party. Please see Nancy with questions! Thank you for helping your child with their special friendship Valentine. It was really sweet to hear all of the kind things that they had to say about their peer.
Our 100th Day of School is Friday, February 20th. Students should bring in a collection of 100 things. For example: 100 pennies, 100 drawings, 100 legos, etc. The items should be able to fit on their desk. My tentative last day will be Friday, March 13th. My sub will be Karin Reese who subbed for me a few weeks ago. She will be shadowing me a few times over the next few weeks so that she is familiar with my routines and gets to know my students. Report cards went home on Friday. There will be two more report cards this year. I am amazed by what each student has learned and how much growth they have made since we met in October at Parent Teacher conferences. Please see shutterfly for photos!
From Darci (Kai's mom)
Parents, Sarah (Talla’s mom) and I (Darci, Kai’s mom) are working to put together our basket for the auction coming up in March. We are very excited that Ms. Revay’s class will be offering the best basket EVER to have been presented at a Llewellyn auction, including a night at a super amazing restaurant, theater tickets and more! We just need the tiniest bit of help from you all. We are aware that we have all been asked to give lots of love and support, and while we are clearly the best parents at Llewellyn, even we have our limits. Sarah and I can guarantee that WE will never ask you for more money…after this. If you are able to pitch in 10 dollars, we can make this basket dreamy. Please don’t make me steal your kids lunch money. (wink, wink). You can give your hard earned cash to Sarah or I at drop off/pick up, or you can give to Ms. Revay and she will get it to us. I am attaching an auction donation form, you are welcome to fill out for tax purposes if you would like. Thanks for your support! Darci |
