Kindergarten will be having a Pajama Day this Friday, December 19th. I have not told them yet, since energy is already at an all time high but plan to tell them tomorrow. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Parents are welcome to attend our class performance next week in the gym from 12:05-12:35. For the past five weeks, students have been working with a dancer from OBT. Parents are invited to come watch our last class next Tuesday, December 16th.
I have another Reading Workshop to attend this Thursday, Dec. 11th. Mrs. Barasch who was here last week will be back to sub.
We tried out our first STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) activity today. Students used marshmallows and toothpicks to create designs or shapes. Today was free exploration, we talked briefly about 3-dimensional shapes (cubes, spheres, and cylinders) and some students tried to make these shapes with the toothpicks and marshmallows. Tomorrow, I will ask students to work in pairs or small groups to create the tallest structure. We will practice counting by 10s and making 10 groups of 10. I will post pictures of our towers!
Before you put out your recycling this week, please look for egg cartons, styrofoam trays, paper towel tubes, toilet paper tubes, plastic lids, jugs, etc. milk cartons, card board boxes. For larger items, please cut them into smaller pieces before bringing them in (for example a cereal box could be cut into four rectangles). Thank you!
Please see our shutterfly account to see photos of Talla and Piper being knighted by Mr. Galati. They were recognized for being bucket fillers and it was wonderful to hear all of the nice things that were said about them from your kiddos!
